Introduction
Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) is a university directly under the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. It was established in 1962 under the guidance of Premier Zhou Enlai. In June 1964, it was designated as Beijing Language Institute. In 1974, Chairman Mao Zedong inscribed the name for the Institute. In June 1996, it was then renamed Beijing Language and Culture University.
BLCU is known as the Mini-United Nations, it is the only university of its kind in China that specializes in offering Chinese language and culture courses to foreign students. Meanwhile, BLCU provides professional courses in various fields, such as foreign languages, Chinese language, information science, economics, arts, psychology, pedagogy, linguistics and other majors to Chinese students.
Over 50 years of development has made BLCU a multidisciplinary university that featured in language and culture education and research, a significant academic center for Chinese and foreign language and culture studies, and the cradle for advanced international talents in China.

Application Information
1. Having high school diploma or equivalent
2. Age 18 to 55 years old
3. Non-Chinese citizens with ordinary passport
*Residents of China's mainland, Hong Kong region, Macau region and Taiwan region who have immigrated and acquired foreign nationality should also meet the requirements above when applying for undergraduate studies at BLCU as international students.
HSK Level 4, score 180 or above
HSK Level 5, score 180 or above
For English-taught majors, IELTS 5.5 or above

2. Certificate of high school diploma and academic transcript of all semesters
3. HSK certificate
4. Letter of Recommendation
5. The registration fee 800 RMB, which must be paid online by International Student Application System. This expense is non-refundable
6. Emergency Contacts’ valid credentials
7. Other materials required by corresponding majors
1. Fill out the application information online, and upload all application materials
2. BLCU will review each applicant’s materials in the system and contact applicants by phone or email
3. Students will receive admission results via email and the acceptance notice and other materials
