Degree Programs

In mainland China, the degree system is divided into three main levels: bachelor's degree, master's degree and doctoral degree. Of these, the doctorate is the highest degree. In addition, there are some special types of degrees, such as professional degrees and associate degrees. Professional degrees are clearly distinguished from academic degrees in graduate education, and both are regarded as equally important, aiming to cultivate different types of high-level innovative talents. Degrees are usually listed in the following order from lowest to highest: high school/junior college/vocational high school, college, bachelor's degree, master's degree, doctoral degree.

Bachelor's Degree
Usually requires 3-4 years of full-time study and is the basic degree of higher education.
Master's Degree
After obtaining a Bachelor's Degree, it usually takes 2-3 years of full-time study.
Doctorate or PhD
after a Master's Degree, usually requires 3-5 years of full-time research and thesis writing.
