Visa for studying at China
If I have already been admitted to a Chinese university and will be studying there soon, what do I need to do?
After receiving an admission notice, applicants should start preparing for their trip to China, including:
  1. Go to the local Chinese embassy or consulate to apply for a study visa;
  2. Please apply for a study visa (X visa) to study in China;
  3. Among them, the X1 visa is a long-term convertible visa, which must be converted into a residence permit within 30 days of entry;
  4. The X2 visa is a short-term non-convertible visa, and students with this visa can only enter and leave China once, and can stay in China for no more than 180 days.

Therefore, if your study period in China exceeds 180 days, you need to apply for an X1 visa (residence permit); if it is less than 180 days, you need to apply for an X2 visa.

Documents Required for Visa Application:
  1. Original and copy of passport (please make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months and has blank visa pages)
  2. Original and copy of the Application Form for Visa of Foreign Students Coming to China (JW201 Form or JW202 Form)
  3. Original and copy of the admission notice issued by a Chinese university

Carefully read your admission letter and contact the school promptly.
An admission letter usually contains admission information such as the program of study, study duration, and the language of instruction, as well as registration information such as the time and place for new students to report and register, and the materials required.

PLEASE NOTE: It is advisable to confirm your accommodation arrangements with the school in advance before enrollment, in case of a shortage of rooms; usually, contact with the school is made through email, phone, etc.
